Broiler House Retrofit in Yunlin, Taiwan
December 31, 2025
Modernising Broiler Production Under Taiwan’s Climate Conditions
Dongyuan Livestock operates a broiler farm in Yunlin, Taiwan, where warm and humid conditions place high demands on ventilation performance, feeding reliability, and daily farm management.
Rather than undertaking a complete rebuild, the farm chose a targeted broiler house retrofit, focusing on upgrading key systems to improve controllability and operational efficiency while continuing production.
Scope of the Broiler House Upgrade
Ventilation System Upgrade for Improved Climate Control – The existing ventilation setup was replaced with Cyclone ventilation solutions, enabling better airflow management and more stable internal conditions.
This upgrade supports:
- More uniform airflow across the broiler house
- Improved management of heat and humidity
- Better integration between air inlets and exhaust points
Pan Feeding System Upgrade for Feeding Consistency – The original feeding system was replaced with a modern pan feeding system, designed to improve feed access and distribution throughout the house.
This upgrade supports:
- More consistent feed availability
- Improved feeding uniformity across bird groups
- Easier operation and cleaning for farm staff
Feed Silo and Infrastructure Upgrade – As part of the retrofit, Dongyuan Livestock upgraded its external feed storage infrastructure with a new steel feed silo.
This upgrade supports:
- More reliable feed handling
- Improved durability and site organisation
- Safer and more efficient daily operations
Before and After: From Legacy Equipment to a Controlled Production Environment
The before-and-after comparison highlights the transition from ageing broiler house equipment to a modern, more controlled production environment.
By upgrading ventilation, feeding, and infrastructure together, the farm improved overall functionality without the need for full reconstruction.
Outcome: Practical Improvements Through Targeted Upgrades
This project demonstrates how focused broiler house upgrades can significantly improve manageability and performance potential under challenging climate conditions.
A well-controlled environment, reliable feeding systems, and robust infrastructure form the foundation for consistent broiler production in Taiwan and similar regions.
